PI 34.055(2)(bm)(bm) The applicant is recommended for a license under this section by the employing school district administrator or the employing administrator of an alternative school.
PI 34.055(2)(cm)(cm) The applicant is certified to be competent in the associated American Indian language. The certification under this paragraph shall be made by one of the following entities, as determined by the associated tribal government:
PI 34.056PI 34.056American Indian history, culture, and tribal sovereignty license.
PI 34.056(1)(1)Authorization. A license issued under this section authorizes the license holder to teach Wisconsin American Indian history, culture, and tribal sovereignty of one of the following tribes in an American Indian education program.
PI 34.056(1)(a)(a) Bad River Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.
PI 34.056(1)(b)(b) Lac Courte Oreilles Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.
PI 34.056(1)(c)(c) Lac du Flambeau Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.
PI 34.056(1)(d)(d) Red Cliff Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.
PI 34.056(2)(2)Eligibility. The state superintendent may issue an American Indian history, culture, and tribal sovereignty license under this section to an applicant who meets all of the following requirements:
PI 34.056(2)(a)(a) The applicant holds or is eligible to hold a teaching license.
PI 34.056(2)(b)(b) The applicant is recommended for the license by the employing school district administrator or the employing administrator of an alternative school.
PI 34.056(2)(c)(c) The applicant is certified to be competent in the associated American Indian history, culture, and tribal sovereignty. The certification under this paragraph shall be made by one of the following entities, as determined by the associated tribal government:
PI 34.057PI 34.057Applicability.The state superintendent shall assign a license area under this subchapter to each pupil services license issued under subch. V.
PI 34.058PI 34.058General requirements.In order to be eligible for a license under this subchapter, an applicant shall meet all of the following requirements:
PI 34.058(1)(1)The applicant completed an approved educator preparation program in the applicable position area.
PI 34.058(2)(2)The applicant received an institutional endorsement.
PI 34.059(1)(1)Authorization. A license under this section authorizes an individual to work as a school counselor.
PI 34.059(2)(2)Eligibility. The state superintendent may issue a school counselor license under this section to an applicant who has a master’s degree and meets all of the requirements under s. PI 34.058.
PI 34.060(1)(1)Authorization. A license issued under this section authorizes an individual to work as a licensed school nurse and use the title Licensed School Nurse and credentials LSN. A license issued under this section is not required for an individual to be a school nurse if the individual has a registered nurse license issued by the board of nursing.
PI 34.060(2)(2)Eligibility. Notwithstanding s. PI 34.058 (1), the state superintendent may issue a school nurse license under this section to an applicant who complete a school nurse practicum and receives an institutional endorsement.
PI 34.061(1)(1)Authorization. A license issued under this section authorizes an individual to work as a school psychologist.
PI 34.061(2)(2)Eligibility. The state superintendent may issue a school psychologist license under this section to an applicant who meets all of the following requirements:
PI 34.061(2)(b)(b) The approved program under s. PI 34.058 (1) results in a doctor of philosophy, doctor of psychology, doctor of education, education specialist degree, or the equivalent, as determined by the institution and approved by the state superintendent.
PI 34.062(1)(1)Authorization. A license issued under this section authorizes an individual to work as a school social worker.
PI 34.062(2)(2)Eligibility. The state superintendent may issue a school social worker license under this section to an applicant who meets all of the following requirements:
PI 34.063PI 34.063American Indian language and culture — school counselor license.
PI 34.063(1)(1)Authorization. A license issued under this section authorizes the license holder to serve as a school counselor in a American Indian language and culture program.
PI 34.063(2)(2)Eligibility. The state superintendent may issue an American Indian language and culture — school counselor license under this section to an applicant who meets all of the following requirements:
PI 34.063(2)(a)(a) The applicant holds or is eligible for a license as a counselor under s. PI 34.059.
PI 34.063(2)(b)(b) The applicant is recommended for the license by the employing school district administrator or the employing administrator of an alternative school.
PI 34.063(2)(c)(c) The applicant is recommended for the license by one of the following entities, as determined by the associated tribal government:
PI 34.063(2)(c)3.3. The local American Indian parent advisory committee.
PI 34.063(2)(d)(d) The applicant provides the state superintendent with evidence of possessing knowledge and understanding of the culture and traditions of the target population.
PI 34.064PI 34.064Applicability.The state superintendent shall assign a license area under this subchapter to each administrative license issued under subch. VIII. A license under ss. PI 34.066 to 34.071 is required to supervise and evaluate professional staff in prekindergarten through grade 12.
PI 34.065PI 34.065General requirements.In order to be eligible for a license under this subchapter, an applicant shall meet all of the following requirements:
PI 34.065(1)(1)Master’s degree. Except as provided under ss. PI 34.067 and 34.072 the applicant has a master’s degree.
PI 34.065(2)(2)Approved program. The applicant completed an approved program in the applicable administrative area.
PI 34.065(3)(3)Professional education. Except as provided under ss. PI 34.071 and 34.072, the applicant meets one of the following requirements:
PI 34.065(3)(a)(a) The applicant holds or is eligible to hold a tier II, III, or IV teacher license in kindergarten through grade 12, or the applicant completed an approved program which leads to a license to teach in kindergarten through grade 12.
PI 34.065(3)(b)(b) The applicant holds or is eligible to hold a tier II, III, or IV license as a school counselor, a school psychologist, or a school social worker, or has completed an approved program which leads to one of these licenses.
PI 34.065(4)(4)Experience. Except as provided under ss. PI 34.071 and 34.072, the applicant meets one of the following requirements:
PI 34.065(4)(a)(a) The applicant has 6 semesters of successful classroom experience teaching in any grade.
PI 34.065(4)(b)(b) The applicant has 6 semesters of successful experience as a school counselor, school psychologist, or a school social worker, and the applicant has at least 540 hours of successful classroom teaching experience.
PI 34.066(1)(1)Authorization. A license issued under this section authorizes an individual to work as a principal or assistant principal at any grade level.
PI 34.066(2)(2)Eligibility. The state superintendent may issue a principal license under this section to an applicant who meets all of the requirements under s. PI 34.065.
PI 34.067(1)(1)Authorization. Except as provided in s. 119.32 (7), Stats., a license issued under this section is required for an individual to work as a district administrator, superintendent, or assistant superintendent. A license under this section also authorizes an individual to serve as a principal or teacher in any school under the individual’s supervision if the individual is employed as a district administrator or superintendent.
PI 34.067(2)(2)Eligibility. The state superintendent may issue a district administrator license under this section to an applicant who meets all of the following requirements:
