SJR122,,33Whereas, the State of Wisconsin recognizes that our children are our greatest resource; and
SJR122,,44Whereas, our children need emotional and parental support from both parents to be as successful as possible; and
SJR122,,55Whereas, separated parents who choose to share parenting duties significantly decrease the chances of undesirable youth troubles and struggles; and
SJR122,,66Whereas, shared parenting is shown to have a significantly positive effect on children’s well-being; and
SJR122,,77Whereas, Wisconsin is currently the leading state in shared parenting outcomes for children with separated parents; and
SJR122,,88Whereas, increasing the public awareness of the importance of providing children with the parental support they need from both parents benefits Wisconsin’s children, their parents, and all of Wisconsin’s citizens; now, therefore, be it
SJR122,,99Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin Legislature hereby proclaim April 26, 2024, as Shared Parenting Day in Wisconsin.
