5purpose.

10provide grants to counties for designing and constructing secured residential care
11centers for children and youth and attached juvenile detention facilities as specified

13$40,000,000 for this purpose. The state may contract additional public debt in an
14amount up to $40,000,000 $70,957,000 for this purpose.

20treatment facilities. The state may contract public debt in an amount not to exceed
21$223,646,200 for this purpose. The state may contract additional public debt in an
22amount up to $74,782,900 $89,782,900 for this purpose.”.

. The department of corrections shall establish or construct the Type 1
7juvenile correctional facilities under section 301.16 (1w) (a) of the statutes no later
8than July 1, 2021, subject to the approval of the joint committee on finance. The
9department shall consider the recommendations of the juvenile corrections study
10committee under subsection (6) (c) 2. in establishing or constructing these facilities.
AB806-AA2,2g 11Section 2g. 2017 Wisconsin Act 185, section 110 (7g) is amended to read:
AB806-AA2,4,1512[2017 Wisconsin Act 185] Section 110 (7g) Mendota juvenile treatment
13center.
The department of health services shall construct an expansion of the
14Mendota juvenile treatment center to accommodate no fewer than 29 additional
15juveniles, subject to the approval of the joint committee on finance.
AB806-AA2,2j 16Section 2j. Nonstatutory provisions.
AB806-AA2,4,22 17(1) County residential care centers for children and youth. In 2017
18Wisconsin Act 59
, section 9104 (1) (c) 1. ev., as created by 2019 Wisconsin Act 9, under
19projects financed by general fund supported borrowing, the amount authorized for
20the project identified as “County Secured Residential Care Centers for Children and
21Youth” is increased from $80,000,000 to $110,957,000 and the appropriate totals are
22adjusted accordingly.
AB806-AA2,5,2 23(2) Type 1 juvenile correctional facilities. In 2017 Wisconsin Act 59, section
249104 (1) (c) 1. em., as created by 2017 Wisconsin Act 185, under projects financed by
25general fund supported borrowing, the amount authorized for the project identified

1as “Type 1 juvenile correctional facilities — statewide” is increased from $25,000,000
2to $73,150,400 and the appropriate totals are adjusted accordingly.”.
