Rules. Rules in
chs. UWS 2 and
3 apply to all faculty appointments made on or after the effective date of these rules. Any person who holds a tenure appointment under former chs.
36 and
37, 1971 Stats., and related rules shall continue to hold tenure as defined under those chapters and related rules. Any person who holds a probationary appointment under former chs.
36 and
37, 1971 Stats., and related rules shall continue to enjoy the contractual rights and guarantees as defined under those chapters and related rules. The rules in
chs. UWS 4 to
8 apply to all appointments to faculty positions regardless of whether the appointment preceded the adoption of these rules.

Delegation. Rules and procedures developed pursuant to
chs. UWS 3,
4,
5,
6,
7, and
8 by the faculty of each institution shall be forwarded by the chancellor to the president and by the president to the board for its approval prior to their taking effect. Such policies and procedures, unless disapproved or altered by the regents, shall be in force and effect as rules of the regents.
