961.19961.19 Schedule IV tests. 961.19(1m)(1m) The controlled substances board shall add a substance to schedule IV upon finding that: 961.19(1m)(a)(a) The substance has a low potential for abuse relative to substances included in schedule III; 961.19(1m)(b)(b) The substance has currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States; and 961.19(1m)(c)(c) Abuse of the substance may lead to limited physical dependence or psychological dependence relative to the substances included in schedule III. 961.19(2m)(2m) The controlled substances board may add a substance to schedule IV without making the findings required under sub. (1m) if the substance is controlled under schedule IV of 21 USC 812 (c) by a federal agency as the result of an international treaty, convention or protocol. 961.19 HistoryHistory: 1971 c. 219; 1995 a. 448 ss. 201, 202, 477; Stats. 1995 s. 961.19. 961.20961.20 Schedule IV. Unless specifically excepted by state or federal law or regulation or more specifically included in another schedule, the following controlled substances are listed in schedule IV: 961.20(2)(2) Depressants. Any material, compound, mixture or preparation which contains any quantity of any of the following substances having a depressant effect on the central nervous system, including any of their salts, isomers and salts of isomers that are theoretically possible within the specific chemical designation: 961.20(2)(h)(h) Methylphenobarbital, which is also called mephobarbital; 961.20(2m)(2m) Stimulants. Any material, compound, mixture, or preparation which contains any quantity of any of the following substances having a stimulant effect on the central nervous system, including any of their salts, isomers and salts of isomers that are theoretically possible within the specific chemical designation: 961.20(2m)(ag)(ag) N,N-dimethyl-1,2-diphenylethylamine, commonly known as “SPA”. 961.20(2m)(ak)(ak) Ephedrine, if ephedrine is the only active medicinal ingredient or if there are only therapeutically insignificant quantities of another active medicinal ingredient.
