SJR23,1,63Whereas, school nutrition professionals are highly skilled professionals with a
4wide array of duties that support students in all aspects of education, including
5preparing and serving food, complying with federal regulations, and managing the
6dietary restrictions of students; and
SJR23,1,117Whereas, school meals are an integral part of a school day, and school
8nutrition professionals care deeply about the foods that students eat, work to
9procure locally sourced foods when possible, and spend significant time preparing
10menus to make sure that students have the nutritious foods they need to learn and
11grow; and
SJR23,2,212Whereas, school nutrition professionals care deeply about and are committed
13to the health and well-being of students across Wisconsin, forming special

1relationships with students and showing them their care through the meals they
2serve; and
SJR23,2,53Whereas, school nutrition professionals teach kids how to select a complete
4meal, encourage them to take fruits and vegetables, and teach kids healthy eating
5habits that last a lifetime; and
SJR23,2,86Whereas, the service and environment that school nutrition professionals
7provide to students is the closest part of the school day students have to their home
8life and can be the most comforting aspect of the school day that students have; and
SJR23,2,129Whereas, school nutrition professionals work in a fast-paced, labor-intensive
10environment that is physically and emotionally taxing, and their commitment and
11dedication to the well-being of Wisconsins students often go underappreciated;
12now, therefore, be it
SJR23,2,1513Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of
14the Wisconsin Legislature recognize April 28 to May 2, 2025, as School Nutrition
15Professionals Appreciation Week; and, be it further
SJR23,2,1816Resolved, That the legislature calls upon the people of Wisconsin to express
17their honor, affirmation, love, respect, and gratitude to school nutrition
18professionals everywhere; and, be it further
SJR23,2,2019Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall transmit copies of this resolution
20to the governor of Wisconsin.
