SJR11,,33Whereas, heart disease and stroke are responsible for over 20 percent of deaths in Wisconsin; and SJR11,,44Whereas, an estimated 80 percent of cardiovascular disease can be prevented; and SJR11,,55Whereas, increasing community awareness of the risks, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, and lack of regular physical activity, can improve and focus prevention efforts in Wisconsin; and SJR11,,66Whereas, communities, health professionals, and families can work together to create opportunities for healthier lifestyles; and SJR11,,77Whereas, in addition to discussing smoking cessation if applicable, individuals should talk to their health care provider to learn about the following five numbers to better understand their risks for cardiovascular disease: SJR11,,881.
