SB1100,,22An Act to repeal 66.0409; and to amend 175.60 (2g) (a) and 895.527 (5) (b) of the statutes; relating to: eliminating the preemption on local government regulation of firearms. SB1100,,33Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau Current law preempts a political subdivision from regulating the sale, purchase, purchase delay, transfer, ownership, use, keeping, possession, bearing, transportation, licensing, permitting, registration, or taxation of any firearm, firearm part, ammunition, or knife in a manner that is more stringent than under state statute. This bill eliminates the preemption so that a political subdivision may regulate such activity in a manner that is more stringent than under state statute.
