SB1062,,33Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau Under this bill, the Department of Public Instruction must provide stipends to individuals who are 1) enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program leading to licensure as a school social worker and 2) placed as a school social worker intern in a public school governed by a school board.

SB1062,,44The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows: SB1062,15Section 1. 20.005 (3) (schedule) of the statutes: at the appropriate place, insert the following amounts for the purposes indicated: SB1062,26Section 2. 20.255 (3) (cm) of the statutes is created to read: SB1062,,7720.255 (3) (cm) School social worker intern stipends. The amounts in the schedule for payments to school social worker interns under s. 115.428. SB1062,38Section 3. 115.428 of the statutes is created to read: SB1062,,99115.428 School social worker intern stipends. From the appropriation under s. 20.255 (3) (cm), beginning in the 2024-25 school year, the department shall provide payments to individuals who are all of the following: SB1062,,1010(1) Enrolled in an institution of higher education or an accredited graduate school in a program of study leading to licensure as a school social worker. SB1062,,1111(2) Placed as a school social worker intern in a public school governed by a school board.
