AB1148,,33Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau Under current law, certain individuals who qualify to receive payments under the federal Supplemental Security Income program are eligible to receive additional payments under a supplemental payment program administered by the Department of Health Services. This bill requires DHS to increase the payments to individuals under the supplemental payment program based on the percentage change in the consumer price index for all urban consumers, U.S. city average, as determined by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor between December 31, 1994, and December 31, 2022, and annually thereafter based on the percentage change in the same consumer price index between December 31 of the preceding year and December 31 of the year before the preceding year.
