Whereas, during his current term in office, Senator Johnson has used his
3position of power to sow division and spread disinformation; and

5and Governmental Affairs received the lowest score of any committee in the
6nonpartisan Lugar Center's Congressional Oversight Hearing Index, which grades
7the oversight performance of congressional committees; and

Whereas, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Senator Johnson used
9his committee's platform to promote unproven drugs and to advance inaccurate
10claims about how to slow the spread of the virus; and

Whereas, following the 2020 presidential election, Senator Johnson used his
12committee to elevate former President Trump's baseless claims of widespread voter
13fraud; and

2recognition of President Biden's victory, without offering any evidence of the sort of
3widespread voter fraud he was alleging; and

Whereas, since the January 6 attack on our nation's capitol building, which
5resulted in the deaths of five people, Senator Johnson has mischaracterized the
6nature of the event and spread falsehoods about those who were responsible; and

Whereas, in response to Senator Johnson's outrageous comments about the
8January 6 attack, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel published an editorial calling on
9Senator Johnson to resign; and

Whereas, this month Senator Johnson sought to single-handedly delay the
11passage of the most recent stimulus bill by forcing an 11-hour reading of the
12legislation; and

Whereas, just days ago, Senator Johnson said in a radio interview that he was
14not concerned about the January 6 rioters because, among other things, he knew that
15they “love this country,” but that he would have been concerned if instead they were
16Black Lives Matter protesters; and

18Constitution and neglected his duty to represent the people of this great state; now,

20Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the Wisconsin
21Legislature condemns the actions of Senator Ron Johnson, which have brought the
22Wisconsin Legislature and the state of Wisconsin into disrepute.
