1An Act to amend 36.11 (3) (a) of the statutes;
relating to: admission
2requirements at University of Wisconsin System institutions.

This bill requires that University of Wisconsin System institutions establish
and use only objective admissions criteria in making undergraduate student
admissions determinations, and requires each institution to publish such criteria on
its admissions website.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

1. 36.11 (3) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:

(3) (a) The board shall establish the policies for admission within the
5system and within these policies each institution shall establish specific
6requirements for admission to its courses of instruction. No sectarian or partisan
7tests or any tests based upon race, religion, national origin of U.S. citizens or sex
8shall ever be allowed in the admission of students thereto.
Institutions shall
1establish and use only objective admissions criteria in making undergraduate
2student admissions determinations, and each institution shall publish such criteria
3on its admissions Internet site.
