1Relating to: proclaiming October 2021 to be Right to Life Month in Wisconsin.
2 Whereas, the U.S. Constitution and the Wisconsin Constitution enshrine the
3right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; and
4 Whereas, it is the duty of government to protect the unalienable right to life of
5every person within both the state and the nation; and
6 Whereas, the life of every innocent child—born or unborn—must be preserved,
7protected, and defended; and
8 Whereas, as recently as 2017, approximately 862,320 abortions were
9performed in the United States in one year, of which 6,360 were performed in
10Wisconsin; and
11 Whereas, advocates of the Right to Life movement have consistently and
12vocally expressed their opposition to abortion as a moral wrong and a public outrage;
13and
14 Whereas, the Right to Life movement recognizes the right of medical
15professionals to refuse participation in a practice that extinguishes human life; and

1Whereas, the Right to Life movement understands the need to support mothers
2in choosing to respect the sanctity of life from the moment of conception; and
3 Whereas, the Right to Life movement supports education and
4abstinence—instead of abortion—as the best means to prevent unwanted
5pregnancies; now, therefore, be it
6Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the legislature does
7hereby proclaim October 2021 to be Right to Life Month in Wisconsin.
