1An Act relating to: University of Wisconsin commencement ceremonies.

This bill requires the University of Wisconsin System to allow the parent or
guardian of a graduating student to attend the student's in-person commencement
ceremony in 2021 if the student's UW institution holds an in-person commencement
ceremony.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

(1) In this section:

(a) “Board” has the meaning given in s. 36.05 (2).

(b) “Institution” has the meaning given in s. 36.05 (9).

(2) If an institution holds an in-person commencement ceremony for
7graduating students in 2021, neither the board nor the institution may deny a parent
1or guardian of a graduating student the opportunity to attend the student's
2in-person commencement ceremony.
