AB265,1,2 1An Act to amend 23.33 (1) (ng) 1. a. and 23.33 (1) (ng) 2. a. of the statutes;
2relating to: the weight limit for utility terrain vehicles.

This bill raises from 2,000 pounds to 3,000 pounds the maximum weight
allowable for a motor driven device to be classified as a utility terrain vehicle (UTV).
Under current law, a UTV is defined as a commercially designed and
manufactured motor driven device, other than a golf cart, low-speed vehicle, dune
buggy, mini-truck, or tracked vehicle, that is designed to be used primarily off of a
highway and that was manufactured to meet certain size and equipment
specifications. Current law specifications limit UTVs to a weight, without fluids, of
not more than 2,000 pounds.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
