SB750,1,4 1An Act to amend 255.15 (4); and to create 255.15 (3) (d) of the statutes;
2relating to: public health campaign for prevention of tobacco and electronic
3cigarette use, a grant program to support organizations working on youth
4vaping and cessation services, and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill provides additional funding to the Department of Health Services to
develop and carry out a public health campaign aimed at the prevention of initiation
of tobacco and electronic cigarette use. The bill also provides funding to DHS to
distribute grants to local and regional organizations working on youth vaping and
providing cessation services.

an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB750,1 5Section 1. 255.15 (3) (d) of the statutes is created to read:
SB750,2,26 255.15 (3) (d) From the appropriation under s. 20.435 (1) (fm), the department
7may develop and implement a public health campaign aimed at the prevention of

1initiation of tobacco and electronic cigarette use and may award grants for local and
2regional organizations working on youth vaping and providing cessation services.
SB750,2 3Section 2. 255.15 (4) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB750,2,104 255.15 (4) Reports. Not later than April 15, 2002 2021, and annually
5thereafter, the department shall submit to the governor and to the chief clerk of each
6house of the legislature for distribution under s. 13.172 (2) a report that evaluates
7the success of the grant program programs under sub. (3). The report shall specify
8the number of grants awarded during the immediately preceding fiscal year and the
9purpose for which each grant was made. The report shall also specify donations and
10grants accepted by the department under sub. (5).

SB750,2,1712 (1) Public health campaign and grants for vaping prevention and cessation.
13In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the department of health
14services under s. 20.435 (1) (fm), the dollar amount for fiscal year 2019-20 is
15increased by $2,000,000 to fund a public health campaign aimed at prevention of
16initiation of tobacco and electronic cigarette use and grants for local and regional
17organizations working on youth vaping and providing cessation services.
