AB50-ASA2,376,323(1) Grant for child care facility. From the appropriation under s. 20.437 24(1) (br), the department of children and families shall award a grant for the
1purchase, construction, or renovation of a child care facility in the city of Platteville. 2The recipient of the grant under this subsection may be a governmental or 3nongovernmental entity and shall provide match funding of at least $2,000,000. AB50-ASA2,376,134(2) Child care center teacher-student ratio pilot project. The 5department of children and families shall conduct a 2-year pilot project under which 6the required teacher-to-child ratio for certain children under the care and 7supervision of a participating child care center is changed as provided in this 8subsection. Specifically, for a participating child care center, the teacher-to-child 9ratio is one teacher for every 7 children aged 18 months to 30 months. A child care 10center may participate in the pilot program under this subsection if the child care 11center is licensed under s. 48.65. During the pilot project, for the care of a child 12under the age of 30 months by a participating child care center, the department 13shall increase the monthly maximum payment rate under s. 49.155 (6) by $100. AB50-ASA2,376,2114(3) Child care bridge payments. The department of children and families 15shall use the amounts transferred from the appropriation account under s. 20.505 16(1) (mb) to the appropriation account under s. 20.437 (2) (cm) as provided under 17Section 87 of this act for the purpose of providing the increased payments 18described in the child care center teacher-student ratio pilot project under sub. (4) 19during the period of that pilot project. On the date on which the pilot project 20concludes, any remaining amount of the amount transferred shall lapse to the 21general fund. AB50-ASA2,377,722(4) Child care center teacher-student ratio pilot project. The 23department of children and families shall conduct a 2-year pilot project as provided 24in this subsection. A child care center is eligible to participate in the pilot project
1under this subsection if the child care center is licensed under s. 48.65 to provide 2care and supervision for 9 or more children who are not related to the provider and 3certifies to the department of children and families that it has no more than one 4child care worker for every 7 children aged 18 months or older and under the age of 530 months. During the pilot project, for the care of a child under the age of 30 6months by a participating child care center, the department shall increase the 7monthly maximum payment rate under s. 49.155 (6) by the following amounts: AB50-ASA2,377,88(a) For a child under the age of 18 months, $200. AB50-ASA2,377,99(b) For a child aged 18 months or older and under the age of 30 months, $100. AB50-ASA2,377,1210(5) Child care access program. From the amounts allocated under s. 1149.175 (1) (qm), the department of children and families shall allocate $1,000,000 in 12fiscal year 2025-26 to the child care access program under s. 49.1335. AB50-ASA2,377,1614(1) Electrician position at Prairie du Chien. The 1.0 GPR electrician 15position authorized for the department of corrections in this act shall be assigned to 16the correctional institution at Prairie du Chien. AB50-ASA2,377,2117(2) Virtual reality educational and vocational training. Of the money 18appropriated to the department of corrections under s. 20.410 (1) (ds), the 19department shall allocate $1,000,000 in the 2025-26 fiscal year to fund education 20and vocational training utilizing virtual reality technologies under s. 301.068 (3) 21(b).
