1At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB126-AA1,1,421. Page 1, line 2: delete “”back-up lamps. and substitute lighting and
3signage and modifying and creating administrative rules of the Department of
4Transportation..
AB126-AA1,1,552. Page 2, line 2: delete lines 2 to 5 and substitute:
AB126-AA1,1,126347.26 (4) (am) In addition to the lamps authorized under par. (a), a school
7bus that is painted as provided in s. 347.44 (1) may be equipped with one amber or
8white back-up lamp on each side. The lamps shall be mounted no more than 20
9inches behind or 20 inches in front of the wheel housing area and below the floor
10line rub rail. The illumination shall be directed down and back for a distance not to
11exceed 75 feet. The secretary may prescribe rules for the specifications,
12installation, and operation of lamps authorized under this paragraph.

1Section 3. 347.26 (5) of the statutes is renumbered 347.26 (5) (a).
AB126-AA1,42Section 4. 347.26 (5) (b) of the statutes is created to read:
AB126-AA1,2,63347.26 (5) (b) A school bus that is painted as provided in s. 347.44 (1) may be
4equipped with one illuminated sign mounted on the front above the windshield and
5one illuminated sign mounted on the rear above the window. The illuminated signs
6authorized under this paragraph shall emit a steady, nonglaring light.
AB126-AA1,57Section 5. Trans 300.54 (1) (am) 3m. of the administrative code is created to
8read:
AB126-AA1,2,119Trans 300.54 (1) (am) 3m. Notwithstanding subd. 3., a school bus may be
10equipped with a light-emitting diode strobe light that meets or exceeds Class II
11SAE J845 standards.
AB126-AA1,612Section 6. Effective dates. This act takes effect on the day after
13publication, except as follows:

15227.265..
