SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO SENATE BILL 420

SB420-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB420-SA1,1,4 1. Page 1, line 4: after “medical responders," insert “requirements for certain minors to practice as emergency medical services practitioners or emergency medical responders,".

SB420-SA1,1,5 2. Page 2, line 13: after that line insert:

SB420-SA1,1,6 “ Section 2m. 256.15 (4) (g) of the statutes is created to read:

SB420-SA1,1,11 256.15 (4) (g) 1. In this paragraph, “on-line medical control” means direct contact between a medical consultation physician, physician assistant, or certified advanced practice nurse prescriber and an emergency medical responder or emergency medical services practitioner for the purpose of providing medical direction.

SB420-SA1,2,2 2. An emergency medical responder or emergency medical services practitioner who is 17 years of age shall consult with an on-line medical control prior to releasing any patient without ambulance transport if the emergency medical responder or emergency medical services practitioner is the primary patient care provider.

SB420-SA1,2,6 3. An ambulance service provider or medical director may place additional limitations or requirements for consultation with on-line medical control for any emergency medical responder or emergency medical services practitioner who is 17 years of age.

SB420-SA1,2,9 4. A physician assistant or certified advanced practice nurse prescriber shall only act within his or her credentialed or licensed scope of practice for the facility in which her or she is employed in providing on-line medical control.”.
