ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO SENATE BILL 72

SB72-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB72-AA1,1,4 1. Page 1, line 3: after “program" insert “and modifying an administrative rule of the Department of Safety and Professional Services regarding renewal of a registered electrician enrollment for a youth apprentice".

SB72-AA1,1,5 2. Page 2, line 22: after that line insert:

SB72-AA1,1,7 “ Section 3m. SPS 305.45 (2) (c) 2. of the administrative code is amended to read:

SB72-AA1,1,12 SPS 305.45 (2) (c) 2. The renewal of an enrollment as a registered electrician shall be contingent upon the registered electrician obtaining at least 24 hours of acceptable continuing education prior to the expiration date of the enrollment as specified in s. SPS 305.08 and Table 305.06, except as provided in subd. subds. 3. and 3m.

SB72-AA1,4m Section 4m. SPS 305.45 (2) (c) 3m. of the administrative code is created to read:

SB72-AA1,2,5 SPS 305.45 (2) (c) 3m. The continuing education requirements under subd. 2. do not apply to a person who is enrolled in a youth apprenticeship program under s. 106.13, Stats., that includes installing, repairing, or maintaining electrical wiring.

SB72-AA1,5m Section 5m. Initial applicability.

SB72-AA1,2,9 (1) The treatment of s. SPS 305.45 (2) (c) 2. and 3m., Wis. Adm. Code, first applies to an application to renew an enrollment as a registered electrician that expires on the effective date of this subsection.

SB72-AA1,6m Section 6m. Effective date.

SB72-AA1,2,12 (1) Notwithstanding s. 227.265, this act takes effect on the day after publication.”.
