Notice of Preliminary Public Hearing and Comment Period on Statement of Scope
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation announces that it will hold a preliminary public hearing on Statement of Scope SS 016-22, indicating WisDOT’s intent to engage in rulemaking to revise ch. Trans 105, Wis. Admin. Code, relating to licensing of driver schools and instructors. The Statement of Scope for this proposed rule was published in Wis. Admin. Registister No.
794B on February 28, 2022. In accordance with s. 227.136, Stats., WisDOT will hold a preliminary public hearing and receive public comments regarding the proposed rulemaking as described in SS 016-22, as follows, at the time and place shown below.

Rule Information
This is a statement of scope for a proposed permanent rule. No rule has yet been drafted. These changes are proposed to create rules regarding the licensing and regulation of commercial driver education schools. This rulemaking will bring Wisconsin requirements into consistency with amended federal requirements for minimum training requirements for entry-level commercial motor vehicle operators and the federally-required training provider registry.
