Notice Of Submittal Of Proposed Rule

To Legislative Council Rules Clearinghouse

On August 5, 2020, the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development submitted a proposed rule to the Wisconsin Legislative Council Rules Clearinghouse, pursuant to s. 227.15, Stats.

Analysis

The proposed rule revises chs. DWD 80, 272, and 277, relating to replacing derogatory or offensive terminology with current, inclusive terminology.

Statement of Scope

The statement of scope for this rule, SS 053-19, was approved by the Governor on May 30, 2019, published in register No. 762A2, on June 10, 2019, and approved by the Department of Workforce Development on June 21, 2019.

Agency Procedure for Promulgation

Pursuant to s. 227.16 (2) (e), Stats., the Department will adopt the rule as proposed without public hearing unless, within 30 days after publication of the notice of no hearing in the Wisconsin Administrative Register, the Department is petitioned for a public hearing by any of the following:



Twenty-five natural persons who will be affected by the rule.



A municipality which will be affected by the rule.



An association that is representative of a farm, labor, business or professional group that will be affected by the rule.

Agency Organizational Unit Primarily Responsible for Promulgating Rule

The Secretary's Office in the Department is primarily responsible for this rule.
