Notice of Submittal of Proposed Rule to
Legislative Council Rules Clearinghouse
On February 26, 2019 , the Department of Natural Resources submitted a proposed rule to the Wisconsin Legislative Council Clearinghouse pursuant to s. 227.15 (1), Wis. Stats. Analysis
The proposed rules affect chapters NR 102, NR 104, NR 219 and other related permit program regulations (NR 210), relating to updating Wisconsin’s water quality criteria for bacteria to protect recreation; and updating related Wisconsin Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (WPDES) permit implementation procedures for the revised water quality standards to be consistent with EPA’s recreational water quality criteria.
Statement of Scope
The scope statement for this rule, SS 125-15, was approved by the Governor on October 27, 2015, published in Register No. 719A2 on November 9, 2015, and approved by the Natural Resources Board on January 27, 2016. Agency Procedure for Promulgation
A public hearing is required, and hearings will be held on April 18, 2019 and April 23, 2019.
