Notice of Submittal of Proposed Rule to
Legislative Council Rules Clearinghouse
On July 26, 2018, the Department of Natural Resources submitted a proposed rule to the Wisconsin Legislative Council Clearinghouse pursuant to s. 227.15 (1), Wis. Stats. Analysis
The proposed rules affect Chapter NR 514, relating to research, development and demonstration plans at municipal solid waste landfills and other minor corrections. NR 514.10 allows landfills to voluntarily propose a research, development and demonstration project. The proposed rules increase the maximum term for projects to 21 years, to be consistent with federal regulations. The proposed rules also make other minor changes to NR 514. Statement of Scope
The scope statement for this rule, SS 019-18, was approved by the Governor on February 14, 2018, published in Register No. 746A3, on February 19, 2018, and approved by the Natural Resources Board on April 11, 2018. Agency Procedure for Promulgation
A public hearing is required and will be held on September 14, 2018.
