NOTICE OF PRELIMINARY PUBLIC HEARING

Notice of Preliminary Hearing Date

The Commissioner is seeking public input regarding a proposed Bulletin communicating extension for renewal of Transitional Health Insurance Plans. Public comment is sought through the hearing and comment period. Comments will be accepted until 4:00 pm on May 14, 2018.

Analysis

The proposed Bulletin communicates that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released a bulletin on April 9, 2018, allowing states to permit insurers to renew transitional policies as long as such policies do not extend past December 31, 2019. The proposed Bulletin clarifies that the Office will continue to extend the renewal of Transitional Health Insurance Plans to December 31, 2019. Following the comment period, all comments will be considered prior to issuance of the Bulletin.
