Notice of Preliminary Hearing
The Office of the Commissioner of Insurance announces that it will hold a preliminary public hearing on a Statement of Scope for ss. INS 17.28 (3) (c) and (4) (f), Wis. Adm. Code, relating to the Injured Patients and Families Compensation Fund (Fund) to amend the refund procedures and modify the Insurance Services Office Inc. (ISO) codes at the time and place shown below.

Initial Regulatory Flexibility Analysis:
The Statement of Scope for a proposed rule will amend the Fund’s current refund process and is anticipated to have a negligible economic impact. The administrative fee charged for paying annual fees in four quarterly payments is $3.00 per quarter which would no longer be refunded to providers choosing to pay the Fund fees incrementally. The proposed rule will have a minimal economic impact related to the ISO code modifications as the changes will add clarity and correct current errors. The ISO codes will be used to more accurately capture and assign Fund fees based upon a providers practice.
