PURPOSE
The department is soliciting input from stakeholders regarding the creation of a Youth Crisis Stabilization Facility (YCSF), a new facility type created by 2017 Wis. Act 59. YCSF will be a treatment facility with a maximum of eight beds that admits a minor to prevent or de-escalate the minor’s mental health crisis and avoid admission of the minor to a more restrictive setting. DHS will be responsible for the governance and certification of this facility and will promulgate a new administrative rule chapter for such purpose. Public advice, comment, or opinion received during the input and listening session is not binding on the department, but will be considered in defining the objectives of the rulemaking.
DHS is an equal opportunity employer and service provider. If you need accommodations because of a disability, if you need an interpreter or translator, or if you need this material in another language or in alternate format, you may request assistance to participate by contacting Sarah Coyle at 608-266-2715 or mail to: Sarah.Coyle@dhs.wisconsin.gov.
