RAD 5.01RAD 5.01Continuing education requirements.
RAD 5.01(1)(1)Radiographers. Except as provided under sub. (3), during the 2-year period immediately preceding the renewal date under s. 440.08 (2) (a) 64g., Stats., a radiographer shall complete 24 credit hours of continuing education related to the practice of radiography.
RAD 5.01(2)(2)LXMO permit holders. Except as provided under sub. (3), during the 2-year period immediately preceding the renewal date under s. 440.08 (2) (a) 39m., Stats., an LXMO permit holder shall complete 12 credit hours of continuing education related to the practice of radiography.
RAD 5.01(3)(3)Exemption for new licensees and permit holders. Subsections (1) and (2) do not apply to the first renewal following the date a license or permit is initially issued.
RAD 5.01(4)(4)Credit for ARRT certification. The board shall accept active certification from the ARRT or a board-approved successor organization as meeting the requirements under subs. (1) and (2).
RAD 5.01(5)(5)Recordkeeping. Licensees and permit holders shall maintain records of continuing education credit hours required under subs. (1) and (2) for at least 3 years from the date of the continuing education activity. The records for each continuing education activity shall include all of the following:
RAD 5.01(5)(a)(a) The name and address of the sponsor or provider.
RAD 5.01(5)(b)(b) The date, time, and location of the activity.
RAD 5.01(5)(c)(c) A brief statement of the subject matter.
RAD 5.01(5)(d)(d) A program schedule, registration receipt, or certificate of attendance.
RAD 5.01(5)(e)(e) Number of credit hours completed.

RAD 5.02RAD 5.02Certification of compliance. A licensee or permit holder shall, at the time of making application for renewal of a license or permit, sign a statement on the application certifying the continuing education requirements under s. RAD 5.01 (1) or (2) have been satisfied.

RAD 5.03RAD 5.03Approved providers. The board accepts providers of continuing education courses recognized by the ARRT or a board-approved successor organization.

RAD 5.04RAD 5.04Audit. The board shall audit for compliance with the requirements under this chapter any licensee or permit holder who is under investigation by the board for alleged misconduct.

RAD 5.05RAD 5.05Waiver or postponement.
RAD 5.05(1b)(1b)In this section, “hardship” means full-time military service during a substantial part of the 2-year period immediately preceding the renewal date or an incapacitating medical infirmity documented by a licensed health care provider.
RAD 5.05(1d)(1d) A credential holder may, based on hardship or other extenuating circumstances, request a full or partial waiver or postponement of the continuing education requirements under s. RAD 5.01 (1) or (2). The request shall be submitted to the board prior to the applicable renewal date and include a statement describing the reason for the waiver or postponement request.
RAD 5.05(1g)(1g) The board may grant a full or partial waiver or postponement upon a finding that hardship or cause has been shown or may request further information from the applicant.
RAD 5.05(2)(2)A licensee or permit holder who submits a request for waiver or postponement under sub. (1d) may renew the credential with the approval of the board’s designee if the board is unable to act on the request prior to the renewal date.
