SJR71,1,32Whereas, Jerry Apps became an active member of the Waushara County 4-H 3club at age 10 and has remained an advocate of 4-H throughout his life; and SJR71,1,64Whereas, Jerry Apps began his professional career as a county extension 5agent in Green Lake and Brown Counties, advising farm families and youth and 6serving as a fair organizer and judge; and SJR71,1,87Whereas, Jerry Apps taught thousands of students as a professor at the 8University of Wisconsin College of Agriculture; and SJR71,1,119Whereas, Jerry Apps has written more than 50 books on Wisconsin history 10and rural life, exploring topics such as barns, cheesemaking, gardening, fishing, 11conservation, horse-powered farming, one-room schools, and country winters; and SJR71,2,212Whereas, Jerry Apps has researched and published 23 books with the 13Wisconsin Historical Society Press, including the definitive Wisconsin Agriculture: 14A History, documenting in depth our state’s agricultural past, present, and future,
