AJR33,1,42Whereas, the compounding challenges of our time require resolve to uphold
3every persons right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and, as such,
4demand the establishment of the Economic Justice Bill of Rights; and
AJR33,1,65Whereas, now is the time to close the historical disparities that have existed
6for many disenfranchised Wisconsin communities; and
AJR33,1,87Whereas, this legislative body is the most diverse legislative body in Wisconsin
8history, with unprecedented representation; and
AJR33,1,119Whereas, with broad support for bold and progressive policy relating to our
10current reality, the establishment of the Economic Justice Bill of Rights is essential
11to the fulfillment of public service; and
AJR33,2,212Whereas, the people of Wisconsin, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, age,
13gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, ability status,

1immigration status, and country of origin, are entitled to the freedoms expressed in
2the Economic Justice Bill of Rights; and
AJR33,2,43Whereas, these Rights will set the foundation for a prosperous Wisconsin that
4works for all; and
AJR33,2,65Whereas, we declare that the Economic Justice Bill of Rights includes the
6following:
AJR33,2,771. A job that provides dignity at work and pays a living wage;
AJR33,2,882. Adequately funded public education and affordable, accessible child care;
AJR33,2,993. A union, public or private, and collective bargaining;
AJR33,2,10104. Affordable, accessible, and comprehensive high-quality health care;
AJR33,2,11115. A clean, sustainable environment and healthy planet;
AJR33,2,13126. Decent, sustainable community infrastructures including safe, affordable
13housing, transportation, and broadband;
AJR33,2,15147. Equitable access to capital, investments, financial institutions, and
15retirement;
AJR33,2,16168. A fair, restorative, and equitable justice system;
AJR33,2,17179. Recreation and participation in community and civic life; and
AJR33,2,191810. Life, self-determination, and freedom from oppressions for all
19Wisconsinites regardless of documentation status; now, therefore, be it
AJR33,2,2220Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the time has come
21to renew the progressive tradition of Wisconsin through the Economic Justice Bill of
22Rights and in a 21st-century fashion.
