AJR31,1,53Whereas, International Transgender Day of Visibility, which occurs annually 4on March 31, is a day set aside to acknowledge, celebrate, and elevate transgender 5and nonbinary people across the world and here in Wisconsin; and AJR31,1,86Whereas, transgender and nonbinary individuals have achieved many great 7successes in fighting discrimination and continue in their efforts towards equality 8and fairness by combating indignity with dignity; and AJR31,1,109Whereas, the stories of our transgender and nonbinary neighbors show us 10that perseverance can lead to systemic change and better conditions for all; and AJR31,1,1411Whereas, transgender and nonbinary Wisconsinites work hard to help other 12transgender and nonbinary people acquire access to health care, to improve others’ 13mental and physical well-being, to raise awareness of issues affecting gender-14nonconforming people of color, and to prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS; and AJR31,2,3
1Whereas, transgender and nonbinary Wisconsinites in the armed forces serve 2our country with bravery and work to improve civil rights and health care for other 3transgender and nonbinary military service members; and AJR31,2,64Whereas, transgender and nonbinary elected officials and candidates for 5office provide examples of courage and confidence in pursuing their values through 6political engagement and encouraging others to do so as well; and AJR31,2,97Whereas, transgender and nonbinary performers bring authenticity to the 8stage and screen and demonstrate the importance of representation by sharing 9their lived experiences; and AJR31,2,1310Whereas, transgender and nonbinary Wisconsinites advocate for others by 11creating resources, trainings, and outreach materials to improve the visibility and 12inclusion of the transgender and nonbinary community, as well as helping others 13access and navigate gender-affirming services; and AJR31,2,1814Whereas, Diverse and Resilient, FORGE, SHEBA, the Wisconsin 15Transgender Health Coalition, GSAFE, the Human Rights Campaign, Fair 16Wisconsin, and other organizations across our state have dedicated their efforts to 17supporting the transgender and nonbinary community, showing the strength of 18collective action and building a more inclusive Wisconsin; and AJR31,2,2119Whereas, everyone has a role to play in making our communities places where 20transgender and nonbinary people are welcomed and supported and have the 21opportunity to thrive; and AJR31,3,222Whereas, our transgender and nonbinary neighbors in Wisconsin have shown
