8who is issued a license to practice optometry to complete, during the 2-year period

10continuing education requirements. The rules shall require the completion of not
11less than 30 hours of continuing education per 2-year period. The rules shall
12include requirements that apply only to optometrists who are allowed to use topical
13ocular diagnostic pharmaceutical agents under s. 449.17 or who are allowed to use
14therapeutic pharmaceutical agents or remove foreign bodies from an eye or from an
15appendage to the eye under s. 449.18.

11medicine under ch. 466, or to practice veterinary medicine under ch. 89, or as
12otherwise provided by statute.

20continuing education requirements under s. 450.085 and paying the applicable fee
21determined by the department under s. 440.03 (9) (a) on or before the applicable
22renewal date specified determined by the department under s. 440.08 (2) (a).
23Notwithstanding s. 440.08 (3) (a), if a pharmacist fails to obtain renewal by that
24date, the board may suspend the pharmacists license, and the board may require

1the pharmacist to pass an examination to the satisfaction of the board to restore
2that license.
AB50,28293Section 2829. 450.08 (2) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB50,1377,84450.08 (2) (b) A pharmacy, pharmacy technicians, manufacturers,
5distributors, or home medical oxygen providers license or registration may be
6renewed by paying the applicable fee determined by the department under s. 440.03
7(9) (a) on or before the applicable renewal date specified determined by the

AB50,28309Section 2830. 450.085 (1) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB50,1377,2110450.085 (1) An applicant for renewal of a license under s. 450.08 (2) (a) shall
11submit proof that he or she has completed, within the 2-year period immediately
12preceding the date of his or her application, satisfied the applicable continuing
13education requirements established by the board under this subsection. The board
14shall require the completion of 30 hours of continuing education per 2-year period in
15courses conducted by a provider that is approved by the Accreditation Council for
16Pharmacy Education or in courses approved by the board. Courses specified in s.
17450.035 (1r) and (2) are courses in continuing education for purposes of this
18subsection. This subsection does not apply to an applicant for renewal of a license
19that expires on the first renewal date after the date on which the board initially
20granted the license The board shall, for up to a 2-year period, exempt new licensees
21from the requirements under this subsection.
AB50,283122Section 2831. 450.11 (1g) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB50,1378,1323450.11 (1g) (b) A pharmacist may, upon the prescription order of a

1practitioner providing expedited partner therapy, as specified in s. 441.092,
2448.035, or 448.9725, that complies with the requirements of sub. (1), dispense an
3antimicrobial drug as a course of therapy for treatment of chlamydial infections,
4gonorrhea, or trichomoniasis to the practitioners patient or a person with whom
5the patient has had sexual contact for use by the person with whom the patient has
6had sexual contact. The pharmacist shall provide a consultation in accordance with
7rules promulgated by the board for the dispensing of a prescription to the person to
8whom the antimicrobial drug is dispensed. A pharmacist providing a consultation
9under this paragraph shall ask whether the person for whom the antimicrobial
10drug has been prescribed is allergic to the antimicrobial drug and advise that the
11person for whom the antimicrobial drug has been prescribed must discontinue use
12of the antimicrobial drug if the person is allergic to or develops signs of an allergic
13reaction to the antimicrobial drug.
AB50,283214Section 2832. 450.11 (1i) (a) 1. of the statutes is amended to read:
AB50,1379,315450.11 (1i) (a) 1. A pharmacist may, upon and in accordance with the
16prescription order of an advanced practice registered nurse prescriber under s.
17441.18 (2) (a) 1., of a physician under s. 448.037 (2) (a) 1., or of a physician assistant
18under s. 448.9727 (2) (a) 1. that complies with the requirements of sub. (1), deliver
19an opioid antagonist to a person specified in the prescription order and may, upon
20and in accordance with the standing order of an advanced practice registered nurse
21prescriber under s. 441.18 (2) (a) 2., of a physician under s. 448.037 (2) (a) 2., or of a
22physician assistant under s. 448.9727 (2) (a) 2. that complies with the requirements
23of sub. (1), deliver an opioid antagonist to an individual in accordance with the

1order. The pharmacist shall provide a consultation in accordance with rules
2promulgated by the board for the delivery of a prescription to the person to whom
3the opioid antagonist is delivered.

6deliver or dispense an opioid antagonist in accordance with s. 441.18 (2) or in
7accordance with his or her other legal authority to dispense prescription drugs.

16that the examining board may promulgate rules specifying circumstances in which
17the examining board, in cases of hardship, may allow an individual to renew a
18license issued under s. 455.04 (2). Notwithstanding sub. (2), an individual holding
19a license issued under s. 455.04 (2) is not required to complete continuing education
20the examining board shall, for up to a 2-year period, exempt new licensees from the
21requirements under sub. (2).

1under this section to a psychologist who certifies to the examining board that he or
2she has permanently retired from the practice of psychology. A psychologist who
3has been granted an exemption under this subsection may not return to active
4practice without submitting evidence satisfactory to the examining board of having
5completed the required continuing education credits within the 2-year period
6specified by the board prior to the return to the practice of psychology.

14renewal fee determined by the department under s. 440.03 (9) (a), a report of any
15facts requested by the examining board on forms provided for such purpose, and
16evidence satisfactory to the examining board that during the biennial period
17immediately preceding application for registration the applicant has attended a
18continuing education program or course of study. During the time between initial
19licensure and commencement of a full 2-year licensure period, new licensees shall
20not be required to meet continuing education requirements. All registration fees
21are payable on or before the applicable renewal date specified under s. 440.08 (2) (a)
22The examining board shall, for up to a 2-year period, exempt new licensees from the
23continuing education requirements under this subsection.

3registered as a nursing home administrator under this chapter and who holds a
4valid current registration certificate under this section for the current registration
5period may use the title Nursing Home Administrator, and the abbreviation
6N.H.A. after the persons name. No other person may use or be designated by
7such title or such abbreviation or any other words, letters, sign, card or device
8tending to or intended to indicate that the person is a licensed and registered
9nursing home administrator.

21illness, disability, or other exceptional circumstances have prevented the individual

10order to continue to qualify for employment as an assessor and that the department
11determines is substantially equivalent to attendance at and completion of
12continuing education programs or courses of study for certified general appraisers,
13certified residential appraisers or licensed appraisers, as appropriate.
AB50,285914Section 2859. 458.11 of the statutes is amended to read:
AB50,1386,1015458.11 Expiration and renewal. Renewal applications shall be submitted
16to the department on a form provided by the department on or before the applicable
17renewal date specified determined by the department under s. 440.08 (2) (a) and
18shall include the applicable renewal fee determined by the department under s.
19440.03 (9) (a). Renewal of an appraiser certificate automatically renews the
20individuals appraiser license without payment of the renewal fee for the appraiser
21license or completion of any additional continuing education requirements that
22would otherwise be required for renewal of the appraiser license. Renewal
23applications shall be accompanied by proof of completion of the continuing

1education requirements in s. 458.13. Notwithstanding s. 458.06 (3) (b) 2. and (4) (b)
22., 1989 stats., and s. 458.08 (3) (b) 2. and (c) 2., 1991 stats., the department may not
3renew a certificate that was granted under s. 458.06 (3) or (4) before May 29, 1993,
4unless the holder of the certificate submits evidence satisfactory to the department
5that he or she has successfully completed the applicable educational requirements
6specified in rules promulgated under s. 458.085 (1) and the department may not
7renew a certificate that was granted under s. 458.08 (3) before May 29, 1993, unless
8the holder of the certificate submits evidence satisfactory to the department that he
9or she has successfully completed the applicable education and experience
10requirements specified in rules promulgated under s. 458.085 (1) and (2).
AB50,286011Section 2860. 458.13 of the statutes is amended to read:
AB50,1386,1612458.13 Continuing education requirements. At the time of renewal of a
13certificate issued under this subchapter, each applicant shall submit proof that,
14within the 2 years immediately preceding the date on which the renewal application
15is submitted, he or she has satisfied the continuing education requirements
16specified in the rules promulgated under s. 458.085 (3).

15for individuals licensed under s. 459.09. The rules shall require the completion of
1620 hours per 2-year period in programs or courses of study approved under this
17subsection. The rules shall establish the criteria for approval of continuing
18education programs or courses of study required for renewal of a license under s.
19459.09 and for approval of the sponsors and cosponsors of continuing education
20programs or courses of study. The examining board shall, for up to a 2-year period,
21exempt new licensees from the requirements under this section.
