SB45-SSA2-SA3,24,98(1) Authorized positions; UWS. The authorized positions for the University
9of Wisconsin System are increased as provided in 2025 Senate Bill 45.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,24,1710(2) Paid sick leave for temporary employees. The Board of Regents of the
11University of Wisconsin System shall submit to the administrator of the division of
12personnel management in the department of administration, with its
13recommendations for adjustments to compensation and employee benefits for
14employees of the system under s. 230.12 (3) (e) 1. for the 2025-27 fiscal biennium, a
15plan to provide paid sick leave benefits to temporary employees of the system. The
16plan shall provide sick leave benefits at the same rate such benefits are provided to
17permanent and project employees of the system.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,24,1818(3) Funding allocations for certain programs and initiatives.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,24,1919(a) In this subsection:
SB45-SSA2-SA3,24,20201. Board means the Board of Regents of the system.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,24,21212. System means the University of Wisconsin System.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,24,2322(b) From the appropriation under s. 20.285 (1) (a), the board shall allocate at
23least the following amounts for the following purposes:
SB45-SSA2-SA3,25,2241. In fiscal year 2025-26, $1,209,500, and in fiscal year 2026-27, $1,612,500, to

1increase assistance to veterans and military personnel enrolled in the system and
2to their families.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,25,532. In each fiscal year of the 2025-27 fiscal biennium, $1,001,500, for the
4program under s. 36.61, including any extension of program eligibility to additional
5health care providers, as defined in s. 36.61 (1) (b).
SB45-SSA2-SA3,25,763. In each fiscal year of the 2025-27 fiscal biennium, $500,000, to establish or
7continue foster youth programming for eligible students enrolled in the system.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,25,1184. In each fiscal year of the 2025-27 fiscal biennium, $300,000, for the
9University of WisconsinMadisons UniverCity Alliance program that leverages the
10universitys academic and research resources to address challenges faced by urban
11areas.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,25,14125. In each fiscal year of the 2025-27 fiscal biennium, $1,000,000, to support
13journalism programs and fellowships for students and graduates of journalism
14programs at system institutions.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,25,18156. In each fiscal year of the 2025-27 fiscal biennium, $250,000, for the system
16to provide education, training, research, and technical assistance to support small
17businesses and entrepreneurs, economic development practitioners, and
18communities in the development of entrepreneurial activity in rural Wisconsin.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,25,2319(4) Grant to the Institute for Healthy Aging. From the appropriation
20under s. 20.285 (1) (a), the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System
21shall award a grant of $450,000 in each fiscal year of the 2025-27 fiscal biennium to
22the Institute for Healthy Aging to support programs in fall prevention and recovery
23training.

1(5) Funding for the University of Wisconsin Missing-in-Action
2Recovery and Identification Project.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,26,33(c) In this subsection:
SB45-SSA2-SA3,26,441. Board means the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,26,652. MIA Recovery Project means the University of Wisconsin Missing-in-
6Action Recovery and Identification Project.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,26,107(d) From the appropriation under s. 20.285 (1) (a), the board shall provide
8$500,000 in funding in each fiscal year of the 2025-27 fiscal biennium for the MIA
9Recovery Project to perform a mission for the recovery and identification of
10Wisconsin veterans who are missing in action.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,26,1611(e) The MIA Recovery Project, acting through its representative, shall submit
12at the conclusion of the mission for which the funds were expended, to the board,
13the joint committee on finance, the standing committees of each house of the
14legislature dealing with veterans matters, the governor, the department of veterans
15affairs, and the department of military affairs, a report on the missions findings
16and an accounting of expenditures for the mission.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,26,2117(6) Funding allocation for a statewide Parkinsons disease registry.
18From the appropriation under s. 20.285 (1) (a), the Board of Regents of the
19University of Wisconsin System shall allocate in fiscal year 2025-26, at least
20$3,900,000, and in fiscal year 2026-27, at least $2,400,000, to establish the
21statewide Parkinsons disease registry under s. 36.47.

SB45-SSA2-SA3,27,223(1) Fee remission for student teachers. The treatment of s. 38.24 (5r) first

1applies to individuals who commence student teaching in the first semester or
2session that begins after the effective date of this subsection.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,27,53(2) Nonresident tuition exemption for certain tribal members. The
4treatment of s. 38.22 (6) (g) first applies to persons who enroll for the semester or
5session following the effective date of this subsection.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,27,86(3) Fee remission for certain tribal members. The treatment of s. 38.24
7(5m) first applies to students who enroll for the semester or session following the
8effective date of this subsection.
SB45-SSA2-SA3,27,119(4) Technical college district board revenue limits; definition of
10revenue. The treatment of s. 38.16 (3) (a) 2w. first applies to the calculation of
11district boards allowable revenue for the 2025-26 school year.
