SR4,,22Relating to: calling on the Wisconsin Elections Commission to appoint an election administrator. SR4,,33Whereas, Meagan Wolfe’s term as administrator of the Wisconsin Elections Commission expired on July 1, 2023; and SR4,,44Whereas, the Wisconsin Elections Commission has a nondiscretionary statutory duty to appoint or reappoint an administrator at the expiration of the incumbent’s term; and SR4,,55Whereas, the failure to appoint an administrator would constitute a dereliction of the Wisconsin Elections Commission’s nondiscretionary statutory duty and deprive the senate of its statutorily granted role of advice and consent; and SR4,,66Whereas, the senate has no confidence in Meagan Wolfe as administrator and has voted to reject her nomination; now, therefore, be it SR4,,77Resolved by the senate, That the Wisconsin State Senate calls on the Wisconsin Elections Commission to fulfill its nondiscretionary statutory duty to appoint an interim administrator and to submit a nomination for a permanent replacement.
