AJR110,,33Whereas, school nutrition professionals are highly skilled professionals with a wide array of duties that support students in all aspects of education, including preparing and serving food, complying with federal regulations, and managing the dietary restrictions of students; and AJR110,,44Whereas, school meals are an integral part of a school day, and school nutrition professionals care deeply about the foods that students eat, work to procure locally sourced foods when possible, and spend significant time preparing menus to make sure that students have the nutritious foods they need to learn and grow; and AJR110,,55Whereas, school nutrition professionals care deeply about and are committed to the health and well-being of students across Wisconsin, forming special relationships with students and showing them their care through the meals they serve; and AJR110,,66Whereas, school nutrition professionals teach kids how to select a complete meal, encourage them to take fruits and vegetables, and teach kids healthy eating habits that last a lifetime; and AJR110,,77Whereas, the service and environment that school nutrition professionals provide to students is the closest part of the school day students have to their home life and can be the most comforting aspect of the school day that students have; and AJR110,,88Whereas, school nutrition professionals work in a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment that is physically and emotionally taxing, and their commitment and dedication to the well-being of Wisconsin’s students often go underappreciated; now, therefore, be it AJR110,,99Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin Legislature recognize April 29 to May 3, 2024, as School Nutrition Professionals Appreciation Week; and, be it further AJR110,,1010Resolved, That the legislature calls upon the people of Wisconsin to express their honor, affirmation, love, respect, and gratitude to school nutrition professionals everywhere; and, be it further AJR110,,1111Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall transmit copies of this resolution to the governor of Wisconsin.
