AB327,,33Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau This bill allows certain search and rescue organizations or recovery teams that use human remains detection canines to receive anatomical gifts under certain circumstances. Under current law, only certain persons or entities, including accredited medical schools for the purpose of research or education and organ procurement organizations as custodians of a body part for transplant or therapy, may receive anatomical gifts.
AB327,,44The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows: AB327,15Section 1. 157.06 (11) (a) 5. of the statutes is created to read: AB327,,66157.06 (11) (a) 5. A search and rescue organization or recovery team that is described in section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, is exempt from federal taxation under section 501 (a) of the Internal Revenue Code, and uses human remains detection canines with the authorization of a law enforcement agency, as defined in s. 165.83 (1) (b).
