Senator Knodl, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn in honor of his daughter Taylir, who had a baby, Harper Ann Gottschlich, this morning during the floor session at 11:42am.
Senator Taylor, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn in honor of a state and national faith leader, Bishop Sedgwick Daniels of Holy Redeemer institutional church of god in Christ. Bishop Daniels, with comprised the best of the secular and non-secular worlds, merged his faith and love of God with his drive to see the people of their community succeed and was a General Board Member and Prelate, Wisconsin First Jurisdiction. Bishop Daniels was a visionary who sought to create a space of opportunity and empowerment for marginalized communities and residents. Members of all political parties recognized the value of working with Bishop Daniels as he created senior housing, spearheaded the opening of a boys and girls club, established both a middle and high school, opened a medical clinic inside Holy Redeemer Church, and founded the first institute for the preservation of African-American art and music. Most importantly, he was a man who led by example, embraced all, offered counsel, support, and served as a moral compass on issues simple and complex.
