Announcements, Adjournment Honors, and Remarks Under Special Privilege
Senator Wanggaard, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn in honor of Conrad Stewart Schutt Barbour. Congratulations to his awesome staff member Eric Barbour and his amazing wife Ellen Schutt on their new baby boy.
Senator Wanggaard, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn in honor of Officer Jeffrey Comp and his partner, K9 Jaxx. They have proudly served the community of Twin Lakes Wisconsin, and have repeatedly worked to protect the community at the risk of their own lives and safety several times in the past year. On June 11, 2023, Officer Comp and K9 Jaxx assisted in a traffic stop in Twin Lakes during which K9 Jaxx alerted the officers to drugs present in a suspect’s vehicle, and assisted in the arrest of two subjects who were found guilty of multiple felony charges, including possession with intent to distribute harmful drugs into the community; the teamwork of Officer Comp and K9 Jaxx was invaluable in putting these dangerous suspects out of business, getting them off the street, and ultimately in cutting off a supply of narcotics to the Twin Lakes community. They are being honored in the Assembly as part of the First Responders Day.
Senator Wanggaard, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn in honor of Chief Ron Molnar. Chief Molnar serves the Kansasville Fire and Rescue Department as Fire Chief. He is an asset to Racine County and the Kansasville Fire and Rescue Department, serving as both a Firefighter and an EMT. Chief Molnar has also served his community and fellow first responders by working as the President of the Kansasville Fire and Rescue Association and the Commissioner for the Mount Pleasant Police and Fire Commission. Chief Molnar is also being honored in the Assembly as part of the First Responders Day.
Senator Wanggaard, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn in honor of his granddaughters Daphne Jaye Wanggaard who celebrated her 6th birthday and Eloise Mae Wanggaard on her 9th birthday in the past two weeks with their family serving others in Beirut, Lebanon.
Senator Wanggaard, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn in honor of his daughter Kathleen Jensen as she approaches one year being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She is a person of strength for others with faith that God has this illness and will continue to strengthen her positive attitude to persevere.
Senator Wirch, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn in honor of his staff person, Steve. Steve and his husband went all the way to Georgia to adopt a newborn child. So, not only did Senator Wirch vote for adoption as a Democrat, but in his office, they are adopting a little boy, and they are celebrating that.
