Representative Goyke introduced Hometown Hero Award Recipient Detective Andrew Wilkiewicz, who was critically injured while responding to an attempted car theft and robbery, preventing further harm to others. Detective Wilkiewicz addressed the members from the rostrum.
Representative Binsfeld introduced Hometown Hero Award Recipient Sheboygan Police Sergeant Michael Thielke, who led an investigation that resulted in the arrest of an international narcotics dealer. Sergeant Thielke addressed the members from the rostrum.
Representative Schutt introduced Hometown Hero Award Recipient Walworth County Deputy Wayne Blanchard, who was seriously injured while responding to a reckless driving impaired individual. Deputy Blanchard addressed the members from the rostrum.
Representative Callahan introduced Hometown Hero Award Recipient Wausau Police Officer Josiah Kaetterhenry, who saved the lives of two teenagers within the course of three months by stopping their active suicide attempts. Officer Kaetterhenry addressed the members from the rostrum.
Representatives Summerfield and Hurd introduced Hometown Hero Award Recipients, Eau Claire Police Officer Sam Sperry and Officer Tre Johnson, in recognition of risking their lives in protecting their community from a dangerous situation in the City of Eau Claire on September 4th, 2022.
