7“(bm) “Qualified data center” also means one or more buildings or an array of
8connected buildings owned, leased, or operated by the same business entity, as
9defined in s. 13.62 (5), or its affiliate and for which all of the following apply:

1. The buildings are rehabilitated or constructed to house a group of individual
11or networked server computers in one physical location or multiple locations in order
12to provide an owner, operator, or tenant the opportunity to rent or own space, utilities
1and other vital resources such as cooling capacity, enhanced security features, or the
2ability to procure infrastructure, platforms, software, and other managed services.

2. The buildings rehabilitated or constructed as provided in subd. 1. are at least
425,000 square feet and create a minimum qualified investment in this state, in the
5aggregate, of at least $20,000,000 within 5 years from the date on which the
6corporation certifies the data center and the data center owner, operator, and tenants
7as eligible to claim the exemption under s. 77.54 (70). For purposes of this
8subdivision, rehabilitation or construction costs include all eligible data center costs
9incurred by the facility owner, operator, and tenants, as certified by the corporation.

(bn) “Qualified data center” does not include buildings used for or to facilitate
11the creation of cryptocurrencies and the process used to verify and secure
12cryptocurrency transactions and blockchains.”.
