ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 251

AB251-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB251-AA1,1,2 1. Page 2, line 2: delete lines 2 to 7 and substitute:

AB251-AA1,1,5 “PI 34.028 (2) (f) Clinically trained mental health professional. 1. Notwithstanding par. (a), for a tier I license as a clinically trained mental health professional, the applicant who meets all of the following requirements:

AB251-AA1,1,7 a. The applicant holds a master's degree in marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, social work, or a similar field.

AB251-AA1,1,11 b. The applicant holds a valid clinical marriage and family therapy license, clinical professional counselor license, or clinical social work license issued by the marriage and family therapy, professional counseling, and social work examining board.

AB251-AA1,2,3 c. The applicant agrees to store, safeguard, and dispose of client records in ways that maintain confidentiality and comply with the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, 45 CFR 164.502.

AB251-AA1,2,6 d. The applicant agrees to maintain accurate and adequate clinical and financial records in accordance with the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, 45 CFR 164.502.

AB251-AA1,2,8 2. A license issued under this paragraph does not authorize an individual to work as a school social worker.".
