* Section 991.11, Wisconsin Statutes: Effective date of acts. “Every act and every portion of an act enacted by the legislature over the governor's partial veto which does not expressly prescribe the time when it takes effect shall take effect on the day after its date of publication.”

2023 WISCONSIN ACT 178

An Act to create 157.06 (11) (a) 5. of the statutes; relating to: receipt of anatomical gifts by search and rescue organizations for human remains detection canines.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

178,1 Section 1. 157.06 (11) (a) 5. of the statutes is created to read:

157.06 (11) (a) 5. A search and rescue organization or recovery team that is described in section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, is exempt from federal taxation under section 501 (a) of the Internal Revenue Code, and uses human remains detection canines with the authorization of a law enforcement agency, as defined in s. 165.83 (1) (b).
