2023 WISCONSIN ACT 116
An Act to create 29.001 (59) of the statutes; relating to: defining muzzle-loading firearm for hunting purposes.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
116,1Section 1. 29.001 (59) of the statutes is created to read:
29.001 (59) “Muzzle-loading firearm” means a firearm that shoots a projectile loaded exclusively from the muzzle.
116,2Section 2. NR 10.001 (17) of the administrative code is created to read:
NR 10.001 (17) “Muzzle-loading firearm” or “muzzleloader” means a firearm that shoots a projectile loaded exclusively from the muzzle.
116,3Section 3. NR 10.09 (1) (d) of the administrative code is amended to read:
NR 10.09 (1) (d) Hunt a deer during a muzzleloader-only hunt, such as described in s. NR 10.01 (3) (es), with any gun other than a rifle, shotgun, or handgun that is a firearm with a solid breech plug attached with threads and capable of being loaded only from the muzzle muzzle-loading firearm.
