SJR68,1,2 Relating to: recognizing the victory of Team USA and captain Steve Stricker at the 2020 Ryder Cup.

SJR68,1,5 Whereas, on September 24, 2021, the world's greatest golfers converged at Whistling Straits, outside Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to compete in the 2020 Ryder Cup; and

SJR68,1,7 Whereas, Herb Kohler commissioned the construction of Whistling Straits on an abandoned airfield named Camp Haven; and

SJR68,1,10 Whereas, over 40,000 fans flocked to the course each day to support Team USA in the biennial competition that was postponed one year due to the COVID-19 pandemic; and

SJR68,1,13 Whereas, the Ryder Cup generated an estimated $135 million in economic impact to the region and highlighted the world-class hospitality industry in the Sheboygan area; and

SJR68,2,3 Whereas, Wisconsin native and Team USA captain Steve Stricker assembled an unmatched roster of talented golfers to represent their country at Whistling Straits; and

SJR68,2,5 Whereas, Team USA entered the final day of competition with an 11–5 lead over Team Europe; and

SJR68,2,8 Whereas, Stricker's selection of rookie Scottie Scheffler helped seal victory for Team USA, as Scheffler upset the top-ranked player in the world, Jon Rahm from Spain; and

SJR68,2,10 Whereas, the young team racked up another eight points in the final day of competition; and

SJR68,2,12 Whereas, rookie Collin Morikawa's birdie putt on the 17th hole clinched the final half point in Team USA's historic victory over Team Europe; and

SJR68,2,15 Whereas, Team USA's 19–9 win was the team's third on American soil this century and represented the widest margin of victory in over 40 years at the Ryder Cup; and

SJR68,2,17 Whereas, Stricker's leadership was instrumental in his team's decisive victory over Team Europe; now, therefore, be it

SJR68,2,20 Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the Wisconsin Legislature congratulates Team USA and captain Steve Stricker on their victory at the 2020 Ryder Cup.
