Whereas, Rush Hudson Limbaugh III was born on January 12, 1951, in Cape
10Girardeau, Missouri, the older of two sons of Mildred and Rush Limbaugh Jr., a

Whereas, Limbaugh made his own play-by-play baseball broadcasts as a boy,
13took a summer course in radio engineering at age 16, obtained a broadcaster's
14license, and started working as a disc jockey for a local radio station while still in high

Whereas, Limbaugh received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's
16highest civilian honor, during President Donald Trump's state of the union address
17on February 4, 2020, a day after Limbaugh announced he was suffering from
18advanced lung cancer; and
