AB724,1,3 1An Act to renumber 230.03 (14); to amend 230.16 (7m) (a) 3.; and to create
2230.03 (14) (bm) of the statutes; relating to: defining veteran in state
3employment relations.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current state employment relations law, “veteran” is defined to mean
categories of persons who have served in the U.S. armed forces in various capacities.
This bill expands the definition of veteran to include a person who would otherwise
qualify under the existing law, but who was discharged under other than honorable
conditions solely on the basis that the person chose not to receive the COVID-19
vaccine.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB724,1 4Section 1. 230.03 (14) of the statutes is renumbered 230.03 (14) (am).
AB724,2 5Section 2. 230.03 (14) (bm) of the statutes is created to read:
AB724,1,86 230.03 (14) (bm) “Veteran” includes a person who satisfies par. (am) but who
7was discharged under other than honorable conditions solely on the basis that the
8person chose not to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
