AB508,1,3 An Act relating to: repairs to the Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge, funding for the University of Wisconsin System, special education funding, and making an appropriation.

This bill transfers $1,200,000 from the general fund to the transportation fund and appropriates that amount to the Department of Transportation in the 2021-22 fiscal year for repairs to the Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge in Brown County.

The bill also provides additional funding for the University of Wisconsin System under its general program operations appropriation and additional funding for special education aid the Department of Public Instruction pays to school districts, independent charter schools, cooperative educational service agencies, and county children with disabilities education boards.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

AB508,1 Section 1. Fiscal changes.

AB508,1,6 (1) Transfer to transportation fund. There is transferred from the general fund to the transportation fund $1,200,000 in fiscal year 2021-22.

AB508,2,6 (2) Bridge maintenance. In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the department of transportation under s. 20.395 (2) (eq), the dollar amount for fiscal year 2021-22 is increased by $1,200,000 for repairs to the Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge in Brown County, notwithstanding eligibility requirements for receiving aid or limitations on the amount and use of aid provided under s. 84.18.

AB508,2,10 (3) Special education aid. In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the department of public instruction under s. 20.255 (2) (b), the dollar amount for fiscal year 2021-22 is increased by $800,000 for aids for special education under s. 115.88.

AB508,2,14 (4) UW System, general program operations. In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System under s. 20.285 (1) (a), the dollar amount for fiscal year 2021-22 is increased by $200,000 for the purpose for which the appropriation is made.
