SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO SENATE BILL 589

SB589-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB589-SA1,1,3 1. Page 1, line 2: before “the Foundations" insert “requirements for initial teacher licensure and".

SB589-SA1,1,5 2. Page 1, line 3: delete the material beginning with that line and ending with line 7 and substitute:

SB589-SA1,1,7 “ Section 1e. 118.19 (14) (a) of the statutes is renumbered 118.19 (14) (a) (intro.) and amended to read:

SB589-SA1,1,12 118.19 (14) (a) (intro.) Except as provided in par. (b), the The department may not issue an initial teaching license that authorizes the holder to teach in grades kindergarten to 5 or in special education, an initial license as a reading teacher, or an initial license as a reading specialist, unless any of the following applies to the applicant:
