AJR118,1,1 1Relating to: proclaiming January 22nd as “Protect Life Day”.
AJR118,1,42 Whereas, 47 years have elapsed since the infamous January 22, 1973, U.S.
3Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion for any reason for the full nine
4months of pregnancy in all of the United States; and
AJR118,1,65 Whereas, it is the first and primary duty of the government to protect its
6citizens, a role which the Court usurped from the states; and
AJR118,1,87 Whereas, more than 60 million unborn children have been killed by abortions
8nationally, a human rights abuse unprecedented in American history; and
AJR118,1,109 Whereas, more than 570,000 of Wisconsin's unborn children are lost to
10Wisconsin families, and their skills and talents are lost to the state of Wisconsin; and
AJR118,1,1311 Whereas, countless mothers, fathers, families, and society as a whole have
12suffered devastating consequences from this wholesale destruction of human life;
AJR118,1,1514 Whereas, the future of our state and country depends on protection of the
15weakest members of the human family; now, therefore, be it
1Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
2Legislature hereby proclaims January 22nd as “Protect Life Day” throughout the
3state of Wisconsin and commends this observance to all of our citizens.
