SB265-SA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
SB265-SA1,1,3 21. Page 4, line 15: delete the material beginning with that line and ending on
3page 5, line 7 and substitute:
SB265-SA1,1,4 4 Section 7m. 440.032 (3) (b) of the statutes is repealed.”.
SB265-SA1,1,5 52. Page 9, line 12: after that line insert:
SB265-SA1,1,6 6 Section 15m. 440.032 (3m) of the statutes is created to read:
SB265-SA1,1,107 440.032 (3m) Exam administration in Wisconsin. The department of health
8services shall administer in this state the performance examinations of the Board for
9Evaluation of Interpreters or its successor, unless the department approves another
10administrator of the examinations.”.

SB265-SA1,3,218 (a) Sign language interpreter—intermediate hearing licenses. On the effective
19date of this paragraph, a sign language interpreter who, immediately prior to the
20effective date of this paragraph, held a valid 151 Restricted License or a valid
21exemption issued by the department of safety and professional services, is
22considered to be a licensed sign language interpreter—intermediate hearing under
23s. 440.032 (3) (c), and the department of safety and professional services shall issue

1a license to the individual under s. 440.032 (3) (c) notwithstanding the fee and other
2application requirements under that section of the statutes.
SB265-SA1,3,103 (b) Sign language interpreter—advanced hearing licenses. On the effective
4date of this paragraph, a sign language interpreter who, immediately prior to the
5effective date of this paragraph, held a valid 150 Renewable License issued by the
6department of safety and professional services, is considered to be a licensed sign
7language interpreter—advanced hearing under s. 440.032 (3) (d), and the
8department of safety and professional services shall issue a license to the individual
9under s. 440.032 (3) (d) notwithstanding the fee and other application requirements
10under that section of the statutes.
SB265-SA1,3,1911 (c) Sign language interpreter—intermediate deaf licenses. On the effective date
12of this paragraph, a sign language interpreter who is deaf, hard of hearing, or
13deaf-blind and who, immediately prior to the effective date of this paragraph, held
14a valid 151 Restricted License or a valid exemption issued by the department of
15safety and professional services, is considered to be a licensed sign language
16interpreter—intermediate deaf under s. 440.032 (3) (e), and the department of safety
17and professional services shall issue a license to the individual under s. 440.032 (3)
18(e) notwithstanding the fee and other application requirements under that section
19of the statutes.
SB265-SA1,4,220 (d) Sign language interpreter—advanced deaf licenses. On the effective date
21of this paragraph, a sign language interpreter who is deaf, hard of hearing, or
22deaf-blind and who, immediately prior to the effective date of this paragraph, held
23a valid 150 Renewable License issued by the department of safety and professional
24services, is considered to be a licensed sign language interpreter—advanced deaf
25under s. 440.032 (3) (f), and the department of safety and professional services shall

1issue a license to the individual under s. 440.032 (3) (f) notwithstanding the fee and
2other application requirements under that section of the statutes.
SB265-SA1,4,63 (5) Credential fees. Subject to sub. (4), the department of safety and
4professional services shall charge a fee of $75 for each sign language interpreter
5license the department issues under s. 440.032 (3) prior to determining a fee for that
6license under s. 440.03 (9) (a).”.
